Insanity: Week 4 / Day 1

Posted on 25. Aug, 2009 by Critter in Insanity, Journal, Video

Pure Cardio never fails to kick the calories out of us! I don’t think we will ever get used to this workout. I don’t think it will ever get easier. And I’m good with that. I don’t mind the fact that it kicks the crap out of us every single time. I can deal with that.

Saturday’s workout was a wash due to some scheduling conflicts. I almost wonder if today wasn’t harder to handle because of that one missed day… *shrug* It is entirely possible, although, I am willing to bet that quite a bit comes down to my diet.

It always comes back to the diet, doesn’t it. The more I workout… the more I come to realize diet plays a much bigger role in getting the body I want… ah well… I’ll get there again.

I feel your pain on the breathing part. During the stretches I’m fine but throughout the workout the suggested breathing times are way too fast/short for me. I’ve decided to just go at my own breathing pace, which seems to have helped a little bit.

Although it’s not proven yet, I think diet is the same problem everyone has. Except for the success stories on the BB site. Planning out meals (and making them) makes me wish I could afford a personal chef (or just pay someone else to make my meals according to plan). Maybe someday but until then I’ll just keep plugging along with you. :)

Aye. I definitely have to do my own thing too. I’ve even tried to skip what I might think are in between steps on the breathing just so I can be breathing out (or in) at the same time that is directed. FAIL. Mind you… during Insanity.. it’s all I can do to keep my lungs from exploding out my chest at times… I’ll do the same.. and just do what I can.

I was really able to nail my diet in my 2nd round of P90X, but stress and real life quickly got in the way during my 3rd round.. My goal is to float around 8-10%, which is feasible. I just need to make up my mind to do it. .. Fully do it.

The good news is.. I am getting to that point. It’s all a matter of starting to see the results again… and then it kind of steam rolls from there…

And oh.. to have a personal chef.. pfft. I’d be rockingly ripped. ha!
